KPL  2-Speed Transmission

A perfect complement to your KPL 632 engine is the fully functioning 2-speed automatic transmission with reverse. The transmission has a sealed case that is fully CNC machined from 6061 billet aluminum. 

It features heavy duty M1 pitch steel gears, and 10mm shafts that are fully ball bearing supported. The transmission uses an internal centrifugal clutch to shift from 1st to 2nd gear. The shift point is easily adjustable, by turning a set screw to change the preload on the shift clutch spring. The gear ratio of 1st gear is 2.5:1 and second gear is a 1:1 ratio.

The output shaft can be customized for your application, things like changing the diameter, adding threads, cutting keyways, ect.

To shift into reverse there is a side mounted lever that engages the single speed reversing gear. For scale appearance in a model car or mounted on the KPL run stand, a lower transmission mount has been incorporated into the tail shaft just like a full scale unit.
